"Trakiya" (A1) is а motorway in Southern Bulgaria. It is planned to connect the capital of Sofia with the Black Sea town of Burgas, through Plovdiv, Stara Zagora and Yambol. Other parts of it are also Northern Sofia Ring and Sofia - Kalotina(at Serbian border) sections.
The motorway is named after the historical region of Thrace. At present there two finished sections: from Sofia to Stara Zagora (205km.) and from Burgas to Karnobat (35km.). After it's completion (according to schedule in year 2010) the motorway will stretch from west to east frontier of the country, and will be 443 km. long.
