Vastrapur is a census town in Ahmadabad district in the Indian state of Gujarat. The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad is located in this area. The area is famous because of the Vastrapur Lake which is a popular tourist spot.
As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Vastrapur had a population of 24,438. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Vastrapur has an average literacy rate of 87%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 89%, and female literacy is 84%. In Vastrapur, 8% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad, also known as IIMA), was the second Indian Institutes of Management to be established in India after IIM Calcutta. It is considered one of the premier institutes of management education in India and is widely considered to be one of the toughest to get in MBA programs in the world. Over 170,000 people apply each year for the entrance exam to get into roughly 250 places. IIMA has frequently been rated as one of the best business schools in Asia.
The Vastrapur Lake is a lake situated in the city of Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat in western India. It is located in the western part of the city in the Vastrapur area. The lake was beautified by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and has since become a popular spot in the city. The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad is located near the lake.

it is one place which i can die for and which i can kill for coz i was born here

Vastrapur(Satellite)is a richest area in Ahmedabad.... I also live in satellite...
I am also living this place Vastrapur, Lad Soc. Road since 1990 and I feel it is the best place other than any place in Ahmedabad. In the year 1990 the place was almost farm land and thereafter started people coming to stay this palce and now become the most preferred place to stay in Ahmedabad. Thanks to AUDA & AMC.
