Just wanted to share some wonderful experience in a beautiful and exclusive area called 'The Little Rann of Kutch'!!!
Experience the sights and sounds of Gujarat in the most enchanting, authentic way!!!
Recently discovered this unmatching place called Rann Riders Safari Resort...
It is a wonderful eco-resort located hardly 90 kms from the capital, Ahmedabad (Gujarat).
Concretely, it takes about 2 hours and a half to leave the urban turmoil behind the back and reach a homely property set in a landscape where horizon and sky meet in front of the eyes approx 360° and where pollution clouds are just unknown...
A morning sunrise in Dasada is like this famous song... just like the first morning... imagine the painter's light shade of pastel colors in the sky, a pure breeze, the tempo of daily rural life with local farmers going to the fields accompanied by the flight of a squadron of migratory birds... it merely gives the feeling time has stopped here!!!
A unique experience away from our daily routine, our modern & hectic lives...
It was just like a dream... a 'cure of rejuvenation'...
Some pratical infos if you wish to discover the area and say cheers on my behalf...
Rann Riders is family-owned and run. The owners descend from Baktiar-ud-din who was given the 24 sq mile jagir (Indian equivalent of a dukedom) of Dasada and its surrounding villages in return for military services provided to the Sultan of Gujarat in the 15th century. He was given the title of Malik Bakhan-1 and his successors continue to use Malik as their title and now as their last name. The Maliks participated in the siege of many forts and the battles of Kuva and Rankhundal in the 1400s and 1500s.
In keeping with the tradition of their ancestors, the owners of Dasada assure visitors of undivided attention and the hospitality of the Kathiawad region in which the property falls.
About 18 cottages built in the pure traditional style of koobas (but with all western comfort inside :-) ) are nicely organized within a paradise-like garden. A private lake welcomes rare birds on their migratory route as well as local species and makes the place a birdwatcher's delight!
The area is also sheltering several colorful ethnic tribes which are keeping in with the traditional style. It's always been a pleasure to share a cup of tchai with them as they gladly explain their lifestyle, craftmanship...
Several places of historical importance are within reasonable distance and enables the enjoy the property as a real homebase!
Wishing all fellow travellers to have a wonderful experience over there :-)
