This is a place officially named as “Burhanpura” unofficially it is known as Banapura, this place falls under Seoni Malwa Tahseel and has a greater importance because of the Railway connectivity and Central market place for nearby farmers, the Agra Bombay state highway crosses from the heart of the Seoni Malwa and Banapura. Seoni Malwa and Banapura are like a twin town in general people say “Seoni Banapura” Banapura is less crowded than Seoni Malwa. Major business in this place is farming and wheat, soybean, horse gram are few of the crops of interest. One of the attraction is the annual fair at “Bhilat Baba”(a place near Banapura town).
The oldest education centers in “Seoni Banapura” are the Government high school and Nalanda Higher Secondary School. The Nalanda School is the first private school primarily opened in Banapura and latter shifted to Seoni Malwa, all though now there are many small schools opened but this school is still the crown of Seoni Malwa. The credit goes to the “Nalanda Gramin Mahila Panchayat” and the Royal Mandloi Family who are serving for the well being of Seoni Malwa and the surrounding.
The holy river Narmada passes from this place, a place named BabriGhat (18 Km ) is the good place to hang out for some time, the river banks are fabulous, you will feel like sea beach.
Satpura mountain range is also one of the attraction, you can go night out in the dense forest and enjoy the nature be careful of Bares and Tiger !!.
Near by attractions:-
Panchamadhi(3- 4 hr drive ): The highest peak of Madhya Pradesh and a tourism place. It is also a historical place related to Pandavas (read Mahabharata).
Bhedaghat(3.5 hrs in train): This is a famous water fall from the marble rocks in Jabalpur.
