Decebal (Moldova Veche) Island or Ostrovul Decebal (Moldova Veche), an island on the Danube, in Romania.
Before the excessive flooding of the river/lake behind the Iron Gates hydroelectric plant downstream (East) from this location, the island was much larger, stretching as far as near the Babacai Rock (Romania), and the City of Golubac (Serbia), both place-marked a little to the East, near where the Danube becomes thinner. Traces of this fact can be clearly seen in ths image, as the river appears darker, of a brownish hue, a few miles to the South-East from the island currently above water.
