This part of the city is called Vodocanal (Water Supply) after the water supply station that used to be here. An old water storage tower stood on the highest point of the town and provided buildings with water.
Later on, the whole system of sewage and water suply changed but the name remained.
At the end of the 80's small private buildins on this uphill territory were mostly demolished and replaced with tall blocks of flats.
